Virtual Travel Experiences Pt. 2

Calling all art lovers! Last week we shared tips on different ways to travel online — everything from historical sites, to gorgeous views — right from your couch. Today we’re excited to share some of our favorite ways to virtually visit museums and catch live theater. Now, let’s unwind, relax and explore the fine arts.

  • Tip 1: Enjoy a live theater performance every Thursday from the National Theatre. All the plays streaming for free on YouTube were filmed live on stage!
  • Tip 2: Explore the Louvre, which is offering free online tours of some of its most important and popular exhibits, such as its Egyptian Antiquities and works from Michelangelo.
  • Tip 3: Delve into the British Museum. With a collection that totals more than 8 million objects, London’s British Museum makes some of its pieces viewable online.
  • Tip 4: Revel in some dance theater. The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater is offering all their content free, with exclusive performances like a historic 1972 video of Judith Jamison performing Alvin Ailey’s Cry, which is available until May 14th.
