Tell us a little about yourself.
I’m based in Bangalore, which is a city located in the southern part of India. I work as a sound engineer for a professional audio manufacturing company, specifically for the Asia Pacific, Middle East, and African regions. I handle technical aspects of company products, which involves interacting with different customers based all around the globe. Typically, my profession takes me to different places on a regular basis. I haven’t made any international trips during the pandemic. I’m hopefully looking forward to traveling abroad in 2021.
Tell us about your favorite travel destination.
It’s hard to pick just one place — most of the countries I have visited are special to me since each is unique in its own way. I’ve been fortunate enough to visit several places multiple times in a year, including China, Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia, South Africa, Germany, and more. I’m interested in different cultures, languages, food, and people. Even after visiting various countries multiple times, I never get bored. There’s always something to see and experience!
Do you have a favorite travel memory to share?
The most enjoyable moments for me have always been taking the longest flight journey from Dubai to Los Angeles. It’s a 16-hour nonstop flight that flies over the North Pole on an Emirates Airbus 380. I’ve taken this exact flight three times now in 2015, 2017, and 2018. I always cherish these moments — it’s just an amazing experience.

Many people have turned to exploring locally during these times. Have you made any local trips?
I recently took a trip with my family to Goa, which is a state on the southwestern coast of India, surrounded by the Arabian Sea. Goa is a unique place because it exhibits the cultural influence of the Portuguese. It’s a beautiful place to relax, unwind, and enjoy fresh seafood. Plus, it’s only a short 1-hour flight from my home in Bangalore.
What is your best travel tip or hack?
I pack my travel bag very lightly! I calculate my luggage based on the duration of the trip, but I make sure to always keep it half-empty. This trick not only makes it so that I never have to worry about my luggage being overweight, but it also gives me space to bring back souvenirs from my trips! Another thing I always do is adhere to my destination country’s time, which results in jetlag never being a problem for me.

Let’s wrap with a round of This or That…
- Window Seat or Aisle Seat — Aisle is always best for me
- Boeing or Airbus — Doesn’t matter as long as I am comfortable, but my personal favorite always been “Airbus” A380
- Carry-on or Suitcase — Suitcase for sure
- Planned Trip or Spontaneous Trip — Always planned trips
- Inflight Entertainment or Sleep — Inflight Entertainment for sure, but again this varies from airline to airline
- Hotel Resort or Airbnb — Always prefer hotel
- Fine Dining or Street Food —This depends on the countries I visit, but mostly fine dining
- City or Countryside — City
